LivingWords AI
PRIVATE AI · BUILT FOR YOUR MAC
Meet LivingWords AI
A capable AI assistant that runs on your computer. Write, think, plan, and work with AI while keeping your conversations on your device.
For Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later · 8 GB RAM minimum
Your AI, running locally
LivingWords AI bundles a local Gemma 4 E2B Instruct model with the llama.cpp inference runtime in a desktop app. Download the app and get started without setting up a separate AI service.
Private by design
Prompts are processed by the model on your computer, and your conversations stay on your device. No account, subscription, or per-prompt cloud fees.
Ready for real work
Ask questions, explore ideas, draft and revise writing, summarize, plan, or get help with software tasks. The built-in terminal asks for your approval before assistant-proposed commands run.
Simple to try
The model and inference software are bundled with the downloadable Mac app, so there is no separate model setup or cloud API key to configure.
Available now for Apple Silicon
The current release supports Apple Silicon Macs (arm64) running macOS 14 or later, with at least 8 GB of RAM. Local model performance depends on your computer; leave enough free memory and disk space for the app and its bundled model.
Windows and Linux support is coming soon. Those versions are not available yet.
Install on your Mac
The app is not Developer ID signed or notarized, so macOS Gatekeeper requires a one-time approval before you can open it.
- Download the LivingWords AI DMG and open it, then drag the app into your Applications folder.
- Open LivingWords AI once. If macOS says it cannot verify the app, click Close.
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security. In the Security section, choose Open Anyway for LivingWords AI.
- Open the app again and confirm that you want to launch it.
Only approve software you downloaded from a source you trust. Read the full installation guide.
