Getting ready to release the `0.2.0` version of LivingWords AI for MacOS! Very excited to deliver these new features! For those who have tried LivingWords AI, you may have been underwhelmed by the current version (0.1.0).
The 0.1.0 version includes a simple chat bot with separated sessions and an embedded LLM for full local AI. Impressive as it is to be able to run a full embedded model on a CPU with only 8G of ram, the product itself feels really short of where the rest of the AI harnesses are!
This next version is going to be bringing the full vision for this project! It will have many of the features that users expect from an AI harness.
Here are two things I’m really excited about:
1. Simplicity – When developing this AI harness the one thing I wanted to stay away from is scaring users away by bringing all of the complications with AI harnesses. Should I write a Skill, an Agent, or integrate an MCP? These are barriers that are keeping the every day user from being able to understand the concepts. With LivingWords AI we are introducing Workflows and Tools! Two concepts very well understood by many users.
2. Visibility – When developing this AI, I wanted to make sure the user knows everything that is going on with the AI internals. So instead of hiding everything that is going on, we are exposing what the AI is doing per session in a right panel.
These are two things I’m excited for with this AI.
